Today I went out caching for a while with a friend of mine, who decided to use the name VanillaThunda9, his XBox gamertag. I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. This was the first one we looked for. I showed him some ideas, but he said he and his dad looked around here with no luck after I had told him about this. Once I showed him where to look, he found it right away, but like most newbies, didn't know that part of the container moved. Thanks for bringing me back here. Cache was in good shape!

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. I had to check this one out for someone else recently. This was the second I brought him to. After some suggestions and poking around, he found this without too much trouble. It was attached very tightly. Thanks for bringing me back here - cache was in good shape!

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. We came here for our third hunt. VanillaThunda9 found it pretty quickly once I gave him the general location to look in. Cache is in good shape and well hidden! Thanks for bringing me back here!

I posted notes for my prior finds. Thin. is was the first one of this type that I brought him to, and after some suggestions, he found it quickly. He actually had less trouble with it than I did with getting the log out and back in! Thanks for bringing me back here again. Muddy as ever lol.

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. I found this one a while back, and it was not there. There is only a remenant of what held the container. I'll post a Needs Archived log since the owner hasn't logged in for 6 months. Thanks for putting this one out.

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. This looked like it was in one place, and it was funny, because VanillaThunda9 pointed out that technically, it wasn't behind the store that it was listed in. He found it almost right away, and is getting pretty good at this. Thanks for bringing me back here. We apparently are the first to sign with a new log.

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. This was one that I took a couple of trips to find, and he found it within about a minute. Coords are off, and he commented on that. He still thinks the GPS should take you to the specific spot of the cache like most newbies lol. Once I mentioned where I was uncomfortable looking, he found it immediately. Thanks for bringing me back here. Cache is in good shape!

Thanks for bringing me back here.

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. We ran into a teacher I work with when we entered this park, so he headed off to find the cache while I talked with my coworker and his family. VanillaThunda9 found it while I was talking and was just waiting for a pen when I got there. Thanks for bringing us here and putting this out - cache is in good shape!

This was the last of the ones we went to look for before going to look for some new ones that I hadn't found. It was very muddy coming back here today, and it reminded me as well of the last time I was here, with FFKid, and he told me about some interesting text messages he had received from a girl that liked him. VanillaThunda9 and I slogged through the mud, including on a nice part of the trail that some younger people were working on rebuilding. We finally got to the area of the cache, and found it pretty quickly. Thanks for bringing me back here - cache was in good shape. I showed VanillaThunda9 what a travel bug was, and when I saw that one was "Fireman Dave", which is my name and I'm a fireman, I just had to take it. I'll get some photos with it in my fire department shortly and get him moving. Thanks for the cache!

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. This was the first of the real finds for the day that was new for me. It was a cache hidden by a former student of mine, and just released a few hours ago. I was going to look for it, but when I realized that I would be going out caching later, so I saved it. It worked out good, because his father seems to have gotten the FTF. I spotted this one first, only because it hadn't been placed back very well and the baggie was showing. We signed the log, returned it to its spot in good shape, and moved on. Very good cache!

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. This was the second of my new finds for the day. It took a few minutes and the traffic was pretty heavy most of the time. We ended up wandering, and on the wrong side of the street for a few minutes, but in the end, found it right where the hint said it was. Thanks for bringing us here, and thanks for putting this cache out!

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. This was my third find for the day, not counting the ones I've been to before. When I saw this was where we headed next, I was like "Well, you'll get to see your first real DNF". There was a cache missing earlier in the day, but I figured there was no way I would find this one, since I had been here a couple of other times, and had no luck any time. We went in, looked around, and after 2-3 minutes, I managed to spot it, and was like "No way!" I asked my partner to check where I thought it was, and it was there! Wow - well hidden and definitely not in the obvious spot. Log is slightly damp. Thanks for bringing me back here several times and for putting this out - glad to have it off my DNF list!

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. This was one of the caches I had never done before, and after finding where it was and how to get to parking, we started searching. There were two older gentlemen working in the gardens nearby, and we thought they might come over, but they just watched - they must know what is going on with this cache lol. We looked for probably 10-15 minutes before VanillaThunda9 managed to spot it right after I made a suggestion about what kind of hide it might be. Thanks for bringing us here and for putting this out!

I was lucky that I checked it because I could see it being a very easy to miss. Thanks for bringing us here and for putting this series out. This was the last of the new ones we did before heading back.

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. This was the last place that we stopped, because I wanted to show him what a virtual cache consists of. He took some pictures and got the information he needs if he decides to log the caches we did today. Thanks for maintaining this area and keeping one of the only virtual caches in Erie still alive!

I decided to go back after this one when I thought I would pick up some caches in the North East area that I hadn't. I asked someone who found it for a hint, and got a better idea of what I was looking for and a narrowed-down search area. I headed out there and after about 20 minutes of hunting, managed to finally knock this one off my list, after multiple visits with several people with me at various times. Thanks for being so devious - you definitely are the anti-park-n-grab cache hider!
