FireRef (Write note) GC1E6ZX - Seek Cache (1.5/1.5) by Tprints
VanillaThunda9 and I went out to pick up a few caches today. I managed, with going back to ones I had already found, and a few DNF's, to find a grand total of ZERO new ones, but it was fun to go out and look! I found this one a long time ago, and remember finding one when I first started which was in the boat nearby. VT9 beat me here, and he found it before I got back to where he was. From here, we headed for the BCC.

I went up here with him and watched while he searched for a while. I also ran into a former student who I didn't realize worked down here, and we caught up a little. It was funny watching VT9 search for this - it is a really great hide. Thanks for putting it out!

VT9 found this all by himself, but he had to wait a while because there were some teenage muggles hanging out in the area for a sweet 15 party (yes, 15 lol). Thanks for putting these out and bringing us here!

FireRef (Write note) GCKDGF - The Liberty Cache (3.5/1.5) by quills
VanillaThunda9 and I went out today to see what we could do about cleaning up some caches along State Street. Well, that was the plan originally - work our way over there from West 26th, and then down State. Didn't quite go the way we were going to, but found a bunch along the way, including some that I hadn't ever looked for. This was one that we had looked for a week or so ago, but with a hint from a recent finder, it relocated us from where I found it years ago, to where it was now. Thanks for putting this one out - it is a really cool container!

Didn't quite go the way we were going to, but found a bunch along the way, including some that I hadn't ever looked for. This was a quick find, from my memory, but VT9 was going to head up around the houses. Once he spotted it, I helped him retrieve it from its hiding spot. The log is soaked - needs replaced. Great cache in a great place - thanks for putting it out!

Didn't quite go the way we were going to, but found a bunch along the way, including some that I hadn't ever looked for. This was the first of the current four in the cemetery that we went looking for- I only needed to find one, but he needed all four. It was a quick find, once we read the hint. There was no TB in the container, just FYI. I explained again what a TB was, and showed him the sticker on my scooter. Thanks for bringing us here by putting this out. We saw some interesting gravestones.

Didn't quite go the way we were going to, but found a bunch along the way, including some that I hadn't ever looked for. VT9 plays sports for SV high school, so it was interesting to see his reaction to the simple grave for a rather large local hero, and to all of the pennies at the grave. He had a little trouble because the cache, being a multi, doesn't really show as that in the Explorist 400 he has, and so he wouldn't have known to look away from the grave if I hadn't been with him. We found the cache pretty quickly, checked out the area, signed the log, and headed on to the next one in the cemetery. Thanks for bringing us here by putting this out - I found it years ago, but it was cool to come back.

Didn't quite go the way we were going to, but found a bunch along the way, including some that I hadn't ever looked for. I found this one a few months back with one of our junior firefighters from my FD. I came back here today with VT9 looking for some for him, and getting the one new one in the cemetery that I hadn't found yet. This was a cool crypt - VT9 seems to like this kind of location. We looked around and he found it pretty quickly. We also looked up some of the legends associated with this place and read through them before moving on. Thanks for showing us this place by placing this cache here - I would never have learned about it without the cache!

We sat around here for a few minutes enjoying the scenery, and then headed out to find more caches. Thanks for showing us this area by putting the cache out.

FireRef (Found it) GC12GH1 - Not a T Ramp's Ramp (2/1.5) by PACGIRL13
VanillaThunda9 and I went out today to see what we could do about cleaning up some caches along State Street. Well, that was the plan originally - work our way over there from West 26th, and then down State. Didn't quite go the way we were going to, but found a bunch along the way, including some that I hadn't ever looked for. He and I went looking for and found a couple of the ramps on lower State earlier this weekend, so we started looking for a few more here. We started on the roof, which he said he felt a little wierd riding up in an elevator with a bike - well, I felt even more wierd because the elevator I picked had no lights inside! So we got our bearings on the roof, and started working our way down. As I went lower and lower, I realized I had looked for this one before - I had only tried one parking ramp cache one time, and this was it - never did find it before today though. So we went from top to bottom, and had no luck at all. When we went back up to the top, we figured we would check a little more carefully at each level. By the 6th floor on the second trip, a security guard from the building across the street, where the heliport was, yelled at us. I think he was yelling at VT9 because he was riding a bike - I was walking and can't see him yelling at me for that. After checking a few more places, I happened to put my hand on it, reading an earlier log about "Looking in places I would hide a cache". It was actually funny, because I hadn't looked there on any of the levels on either trip down the ramp or the other time - I just happened to put my hand in the right place and come up with the find. Thanks for giving us a fun time by putting this out - and I got to avenge an earlier DNF.

This was the fourth ramp that we did, but the second one today. We went to the roof, me by walking the steps because the elevator appeared to have no power, and him by his bike. We got our bearings on the roof, but not until after Stat MedEvac landed across the way - we watched this before looking for our starting spot. It would have been a lot better view if we had been working on the last cache (Not a T-Ramp Ramp) because of it being right next to it, but this was a decent view - I even videotaped it on my phone. So anyway, we found our bearings, and headed down. We looked on several levels, before we realized the clue pretty much applied to a specific kind of place, and that we hadn't really checked that specific place on several of the levels. So we split up, and I came up with the find. Thanks for bringing us here and showing us how fun this kind of cache can be!

So VT9 and I went up - as I was walking up, I said it's probably like an extra mailbox or something, and then I spotted the container, which I had NEVER seen, in all of the times I have driven by this location. We checked out the log and as I was signing, apparently, I upset some birds in a nest up under the awning, and one of them, flying out, managed to leave a nice present on my jeans! Gee - Thanks! Oh well - at least we got the smiley. Thanks for putting this out, and I'm glad to have this one off my list!

FireRef (Found it) GC1Y6JE - Bridge to Somewhere (1.5/2) by GeneP
Today, I went out with VanillaThunda9 and That Guy and we planned to do a bunch of caches. There were some serious snags along the way, including a stolen bike and a nearly lost cache container, but in the end, we had a good time (except for That Guy relative to his bike), and everyone got a few smileys out of the deal. This was the first cache I met up with the two of them at. By the time I caught up to them, they had just found the container, and I think I would have had some problems finding this one. Thanks for putting it out! I always wondered what the bridge here was for - I assumed that it was put up for fishermen to use. After this, I headed back to the nearby Troll Bridge cache, not realizing I did it before, and they headed for Kiawa's 3/4K cache.

This was the cache with the bike problem. The two boys put their bikes under the bridge, which probably wasn't a great idea, but it was done. By the time I caught up with them, they were already near GZ searching. I managed to find it again, but honestly didn't remember where it was before I pulled it out. Other than a missing lid, the cache is in good shape. Thanks for bringing us here. We went from here to check out Bottle Rocket, but decided wading/swimming wasn't really an option the way we were dressed, and we would have needed to wade to get there, so we headed out. When we left, we saw that VT9's bike was there, but That Guy's wasn't - it was just completely missing. I rode around looking for it for about 20 minutes, through most of the local areas, while they checked around the site, but none of us had any luck. Sorry for this bad experience, but the cache was fun. From here, we decided to continue caching, and head up to the ribfest that was going on. Thanks for the cache!

I found this one after a couple of minutes, and while signing the log and talking to VT9 on the phone, managed to drop the bottom of the container in the tall grass. After signing the log, and hanging up the phone, I realized this. I spent the next 10 minutes looking for it, and then replaced the partial cache where I got it, planning to come back. I went up and checked out Bayview again, not finding it, and VT9 and I came back here and started looking again for the missing half-container. I decided to head home to pick up another friend (that never panned out) who was going to cache with us, and get a replacement container, but That Guy joined us just before I left, and he managed to find it before I returned. We swung down for this one, discussing Coppers which is having some serious problems, as we drove by. I had received a wierd phone call a few minutes earlier, and got another one as we were pulling in. Actually, it was a scout leader who I was talking with for the first time, but had emailed a few times about doing a geocaching class for his troop, which includes one of my students. We talked about how to set it up, and VT9 decided to help out as well - it should be a great time. Thanks for putting this out - I never knew this was a benchmark! They really need to just paint this like a lighthouse and make it look nice if they're going to leave it.

I came back from trying to get a replacement container, that it turns out we didn't need, and met the guys at this cache. VT9 had found it, and That Guy was still searching. After a hint or two, I found it, but it definitely was well hidden. I had looked for this as a FTF, or close to it - don't know if I would have found it then. Thanks for putting this out, and exposing us to all of the wonderful bugs that were around! We picked up VT9's bike and put it on a carrier, and ran for the rest of the night in a car. On to the next one!

After a minute or two of looking, I spotted it, and tossed it to VT9, who almost dropped it because I didn't notice he wasn't paying attention. We worked for a few minutes to remove the log, and then signed it and headed back to the car, bug swatting all the way. Cool container! Thanks for bringing us here!

So while I was discussing all of this with the gentleman on the phone, VT9 and That Guy got the cache without any trouble. Cool container! Thanks for bringing us here- I seem to remember a pretty cool puzzle cache, and another simpler one, down in this area.

We checked out the right place at first, then a few others, and then went back to the first one, and I got to watch VT9 and That Guy argue like friends do back and forth over whose fault it was that they didn't spot it in the first place the first time. Helped out a friend with this one today. VT9 was doing some caching on his own, and after talking to him on the phone and giving some information, but very little, I decided to swing by and watch him look. He sent me a picture message of a van parked in front of a light pole, complaining that it was in front of where he wanted to hunt. I laughed. By the time I got over there, he was sitting down signing the log, so he managed it all by himself! As always, a very cool hide.

I managed to find 20, DNF'd a few, and had a great time, and put 185 miles on my scooter in the process. This was the first one I looked for. It was a pretty cool marker on the road, and so after reading it, I headed back into the woods to find it. I looked for about 15 minutes, ducking, dodging, and swatting at mosquitoes the whole time. After about that much time, a gentleman who had ridden by on a bike a few minutes before talking on his cell phone stopped back and asked me a few questions about my scooter. He never actually asked about me being in the woods, which I thought was funny. Because of him chatting with me, I worked my way back toward the road, and managed to see a good hiding spot, and wallah, there the cache was! Thanks for bringing me here by putting this out!

I actually went down the wrong road at first, but that was because that was where my Colorado told me to go. I used my mind and went back around, noticing I probably could have parked and walked up a cool set of steps, and probably would have, except for a muggle parked right on them and it would have looked a little odd for me to park my scooter and climb the steps out of the blue. So I went around, found the right entrance, and found the cache without any trouble. I did notice a number of graves which had been displaced or knocked over - always hate to see this kind of thing. This was the eighth find. The location wasn't hard to find, and coordinates were very good. There was a large rock on part of the fence near the actual location, and I thought this had something to do with it, but didn't really. I found the real cache, signed the log, and replaced it as found. As always, I followed the hint, but it didn't help in actually finding the cache. I have to mention that by now, I am getting rather irritated by the dirt roads I have been on to find a bunch of these caches today. It seems a number of them have rocks and gravel which is just the right size to make it nearly impossible to keep my scooter under control. Guess I need to stick to more urban caches with it, or take my life into my own hands! It was an interesting ride, to say the least. Thanks for staying involved in caching, and bringing me to this area by putting this one out!

This was the next find. I found this one almost immediately, but was surprised at how far it was from the bridge - most of these kind of hides are placed almost at the bridge. It did make it a little easier to work around with traffic, because the occasional car did come through while I was in this area. Thanks for bringing me here with this cache so I could see the bridge!

I managed to find 22 (although for the first few logs I said 20 or 21, because I missed a few), DNF'd a few, and had a great time, and put 185 miles on my scooter in the process. This was a really cool hide. It happened to be the first thing I grabbed, and I was surprised it was that easy, but I have seen similar ones before. I never saw this particular type of this setup however, and it was well done and in great shape. Around this time, I got a text from a fellow firefighter who is a scout, who mentioned that he accidentally found a geocache, but knew exactly what it was when he ran across it. Thanks for bringing me here and showing me this cache and this area. We brought some junior firefighters here a few years back for a competition, and did very well at it!

I found this one without any problems, but did have some problems retrieving the container. I had to use a couple sticks as chopsticks or tweezers in order to actually retrieve the container from its hiding spot. When I was finished, I added a few layers of clothing as it was starting to cool off, and headed out to find more caches before heading home. Thanks for bringing me here and showing me this area, as well as giving me another smiley!

This was funny that the cache was located on the property of a security company - I figured this would be one of the last places you would ever find a cache. Thanks for bringing me here, though - it was well stocked and in great shape.

I actually stopped to eat on this cache run at the local KFC before doing this one, because I noticed the store and my stomach rumbling at about the same time. Thanks for bringing me to this area by putting this cache out - and my stomach thanks you as well!

This was a pretty cool container, but there was a pretty big ant problem inside it. Like all over everything - I had to keep brushing them off my hands as I was trying to retrieve and sign the log - it probably should be cleaned out soon before things inside get damaged. Thanks for bringing me here and showing me this unique kind of hide!

The place was deserted except for one car which pulled in, and circled around the parking lot, and then seemed to sit there for an extra minute or two watching me. Thanks for bringing me here because of this cache - I might have to check the place out when its open!

FireRef (Write note) GC1WKD6 - Shady Rob's Puzzle Cache #18 (2/1) by Shady Rob
Today I was out on a cache run with VanillaThunda9. We did a bunch of caches in the Waterford area. This one was actually on our way out to start the cache run. Since I had just lent an old Explorist GPS to him to use for a while, he noticed there was a cache right at the place where we happened to be turning. We stopped, he hopped out, and used it to find this cache very quickly. Thanks for putting these out!

Today I was out on a cache run with VanillaThunda9. We did a bunch of caches in the Waterford area. When we drove into the parking lot for this campground, there was a man in the back of a pickup truck sawing away at a log, making a large bear sculpture. There were two teenage boys watching the sawing. We headed past and went to get the cache. The lid to this is completely smashed - the edge of it is separated from the center, so it is completely un-water-tight. I dumped some water out of the bottom of the container - the logbook is soaked, and many of the contents are slimy. You may want to replace this container, logbook, and contents. Thanks for putting it out - I didn't know this campground was here!

Today I was out on a cache run with VanillaThunda9. We did a bunch of caches in the Waterford area. This one took a little while, probably because when I went into the woods, I thought that the container was a large one. Today I was out on a cache run with VanillaThunda9. We did a bunch of caches in the Waterford area. We actually came to find the other lizard one first, but noticed this one was here, so we went after this one first. After crashing through the rather thick, painful bushes for a while, I spotted it from a much less than pokey area than we originally thought it was in. After dissecting the cache, we signed the log, and moved on. Thanks for putting this out. On a side note, one of my former students, when the "found it" log showed up on facebook after posting the field note, replied with "Leapin' Lizards, Batman!"

Today I was out on a cache run with VanillaThunda9. We did a bunch of caches in the Waterford area. This one involved a lot more walking through high weeds than I expected when I started out. We took a pretty rough way in, between the knee-high vegitation, and the large sharp plants that we pushed our way through. As usual, we found a much quicker, easier way out of the woods than we had when we went in. Once we got into the area, VT9's gps was a little off - I remember it being a little finicky in tree cover, but found hundreds of caches with it, so I guess I can excuse it. We found it, signed the log, and found a much easier way out of the woods. Thanks for putting this out and bringing us back here.

We found the first stage, figured out the coordinates, and them moved on to part two. We started in the wrong area for part two, and didn't really understand the clue, but found the cache pretty quickly eventually. The container and contents are in great shape. I guess we found the replacement container, since the first log says the original cache was lost by the FTF people, and so we were FTF on the new container maybe? Just kidding. I did sign it as second to find lol. We could see why this bridge was closed down, with the plywood allowing us to actually walk into it when we got close! I went looking for a few caches today with VanillaThunda9 and his friend That Guy. VT9 was showing That Guy what caching was. I guess before this one they stopped at Novelle, which was the first one I showed him a few days ago. I had found this one a while back, after multiple attempts. It was close to VT9's house, so that was where I met them looking for it. They spent about 15 minutes hunting, and then I joined in, and none of us were able to find it. I'm pretty sure I remember where and what it was, but didn't have any luck today after about 10-15 minutes of all of us looking. Might still be there, but next time the owner's in the neighborhood, you could check on it :) Thanks for bringing us back here. Off to the next one!

I went looking for a few caches today with VanillaThunda9 and his friend That Guy. VT9 was showing That Guy what caching was. They met me here, and I let them search for about 10 minutes before That Guy came up with the find. Lots of places it could be. I didn't have to give them any hints other than what the container was, but that didn't really help much because they were already looking everywhere a container like that could be. One of them plays baseball here quite often. Thanks for bringing us here and keeping these older caches alive!

I went looking for a few caches today with VanillaThunda9 and his friend That Guy. VT9 was showing That Guy what caching was. This was one of the few I hadn't found, so we spent some time looking for it, and I managed to make the find. It wasn't where I expected. No tweezers required. I was here about a week or two ago, when the benches were just painted, but didn't realize that until I already put my hand on it. Thanks for bringing us here for for putting this out!

I went looking for a few caches today with VanillaThunda9 and his friend That Guy. VT9 was showing That Guy what caching was. This was one I've hunted for a bunch of times, but managed to find it this time. Well, That Guy found it after I had looked in exactly that spot and didn't see anything. I can't believe I didn't think of this before. Actually, I mentioned a similar hide I had seen somewhere else, and That Guy said something like "Oh, like this"? Good hide. Thanks for putting these out!

This was one I hadn't found, and with the hint, That Guy found it almost immediately. The log is soaked at this point - good idea for a cache, but the method of securing it might need to be rethought before it is completely full of water after a decent rain. Thanks for starting to put these out and bringing us here - I've been here about once a year for the Swimming official's banquet at the end of the season for over 10 years.

It was very muddy coming back here today, and it reminded me as well of the last time I was here, with FFKid, and he told me about some interesting text messages he had received from a girl that liked him. VanillaThunda9 and I slogged through the mud, including on a nice part of the trail that some younger people were working on rebuilding. We finally got to the area of the cache, and found it pretty quickly. Thanks for bringing me back here - cache was in good shape. I showed VanillaThunda9 what a travel bug was, and when I saw that one was "Fireman Dave", which is my name and I'm a fireman, I just had to take it. I spotted this one first, only because it hadn't been placed back very well and the baggie was showing. We signed the log, returned it to its spot in good shape, and moved on. Very good cache!

There was a cache missing earlier in the day, but I figured there was no way I would find this one, since I had been here a couple of other times, and had no luck any time. We went in, looked around, and after 2-3 minutes, I managed to spot it, and was like "No way!" I asked my partner to check where I thought it was, and it was there! Today I went out caching for a while with a friend of mine, who decided to use the name VanillaThunda9, his XBox gamertag. I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. This was the last of the ones we went to look for before going to look for some new ones that I hadn't found. I'll get some photos with it in my fire department shortly and get him moving. Thanks for the cache!

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. This was the first of the real finds for the day that was new for me. It was a cache hidden by a former student of mine, and just released a few hours ago. I was going to look for it, but when I realized that I would be going out caching later, so I saved it. It worked out good, because his father seems to have gotten the FTF. I spotted this one first, only because it hadn't been placed back very well and the baggie was showing. We signed the log, returned it to its spot in good shape, and moved on. Very good cache!

I posted notes for my prior finds. This was the second of my new finds for the day. It took a few minutes and the traffic was pretty heavy most of the time. We ended up wandering, and on the wrong side of the street for a few minutes, but in the end, found it right where the hint said it was. Thanks for bringing us here, and thanks for putting this cache out!

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. This was my third find for the day, not counting the ones I've been to before. When I saw this was where we headed next, I was like "Well, you'll get to see your first real DNF". Wow - well hidden and definitely not in the obvious spot. Log is slightly damp. Thanks for bringing me back here several times and for putting this out - glad to have it off my DNF list!

I introduced him to some caches near his house that I knew where they were and showed a variety of hides, and then we went and looked for some that I had never found. I posted notes for my prior finds. This was one of the caches I had never done before, and after finding where it was and how to get to parking, we started searching. There were two older gentlemen working in the gardens nearby, and we thought they might come over, but they just watched - they must know what is going on with this cache lol. We looked for probably 10-15 minutes before VanillaThunda9 managed to spot it right after I made a suggestion about what kind of hide it might be. Thanks for bringing us here and for putting this out!

I posted notes for my prior finds. I found this one almost right away after we got here, and thought it was a very cool container. I decided to go back after this one when I thought I would pick up some caches in the North East area that I hadn't. I asked someone who found it for a hint, and got a better idea of what I was looking for and a narrowed-down search area. I headed out there and after about 20 minutes of hunting, managed to finally knock this one off my list, after multiple visits with several people with me at various times. Thanks for being so devious - you definitely are the anti-park-n-grab cache hider!

FireRef (Didn`t find it) GC1JN4T - Out Of The Woods (2/1) by brer ratbit
On the day of the Allegany GeoBash 2010, I decided to go up there, check out the area, and do a bunch of caches. I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was one of only two I was unable to find, and I'm guessing it isn't there anymore. Like several previous finders mentioned, I found a magnet, but no container anywhere to be found. I have a history with this location - I hid a cache a little ways back in the woods, but after several DNF's and several comments from people who found it that it wasn't quite family friendly, I pulled it a while back. Thanks for giving me a reason to stop here again, even if there wasn't a cache to find.

On the day of the Allegany GeoBash 2010, I decided to go up there, check out the area, and do a bunch of caches. I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was the first "find" since it counts as one. Thanks for bringing me here. It seems to be a very well planned out event. The only bad thing was all of the bugs. I picked up a few things from the shops, and was in the group photo. Thanks for everyone who planned this - now I'm off to find some caches!

I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was the first real cache, but second find for the day. Thanks for bringing me back here. On the day of the Allegany GeoBash 2010, I decided to go up there, check out the area, and do a bunch of caches. I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #3. This was a quick and easy find, and when I was headed up there, I ran into EvilBenchmarkHunter and Rev. Mike from my neck of the woods. Mike made a joke about how we were likely to meet because it was out of state. I have actually only run into him once in my own area, but 3-4 times out of state. Thanks for bringing us here - this cache was a nice one!

On the day of the Allegany GeoBash 2010, I decided to go up there, check out the area, and do a bunch of caches. I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #4. This one was a hard cache to find. When I got back to the woods, I was surprised to find a whole group of people working on finding it - probably close to 20. None had found it. I hunted with them for about 20 minutes, and then decided to move on to greener pastures. As I was walking down the hill, a group of three people walked up, and said they had swallowed their pride and asked for a hint. I won't repeat it here, but after about 5 minutes of everyone hunting with that new hint, I managed to find the right hiding spot! That was cool - I didn't expect to be the person to find it! Thanks for the challenge!

I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #6. This was one of those caches at an event where I was walking up and saw a bunch of people, and figured I'd find it right away, but it turns out the people were there fishing and camping. I realized this when my GPS said I was where I was supposed to be, but I was probably 70 feet from those people. I looked around, found a likely hiding spot, and there it was! Thanks for bringing me here! I spent a lot of time in this lot over the years camping here with my family, because it is one of the only places you can get good phone reception!

I always like this park, because my family has gone camping here every year for as long as I can remember (since it was before I was born lol). I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #7. This was a pretty quick find, and was pretty cool in the way it was hidden that relates to the name of the cache. I ended up getting to GZ as a couple of other cachers with a dog did also, and they mentioned they were on their way to the event itself, but wanted to "find a geo" before they got there. Thanks for putting these out and bringing me to this spot!

I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #8. This entailed a little bit of a climb - I was actually videotaping some commentary as I was doing some of these caches, and just before I went up to find it, I taped the hill and commented that "I hope it isn't up there!" - well, it was lol, or at least somewhat. So I climbed up and found it right where I thought it would be. While I was signing the log, some people came behind me and said "Hey, any chance you could bring that log down here? haha", and I said "Well, only if you bring it back up!" - they made the climb and the find as well, and I headed on my way. Thanks for bringing me here, and for this really cool series!

I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #9. This required a little bit of a climb, and some creative parking since there wasn't a parking spot right by where the best access was. I went up in, and found a family with a couple small children checking out the contents of the cache as I got there. Thanks for bringing us here, and for putting this series out!

I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #10. This was pretty well tucked back into its hiding space, and I think I found another cache in this area a few years back. I had to squat for the entire time while finding the cache and signing the log to avoid getting killed by the local shrubbery. Thanks for bringing me back here!

I was here in this area before finding a cache out by the road, but I don't believe it is still there. One nice thing about the permit process for ASP and the New York parks (the ones that are still open :( ) is that every year, half of the caches in a park cycle out and new ones come in, and so when I am camping, there's always some new ones! I passed several people on the way out, but didn't say much other than hi. When I got back there, I found a bunch of likely places, but after 15-20 minutes, no luck. The hint didn't help a lot, because there weren't many places that you could go to find this without breaking what they suggested. This was a cute little hide in the manner of a lot of mine. I also spent some time at this cache trying to sort out my field notes because at ASP, the phone signal was pretty bad, and some of the field notes that my iPhone said saved, didn't. I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #27. This was a little hard to find parking for, but I ended up parking reasonably safely. All of a sudden, it seemed like it became a busy street. I found the cache quickly, except for getting really wet because it was behind a large bush that usually isn't in these types of places. Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!

I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #28. This one took a little work getting in to where the cache was, but was a nice container back there. Wonder why the trail is closed. Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!

I always like this park, because my family has gone camping here every year for as long as I can remember (since it was before I was born lol). I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was not a find, and I just realized when I started typing this that I only had 37 for the day - whoops - lol - I've put that I found 38 for most of the logs up until this one, so I left it there. I parked here for a few minutes as a local muggle was filling water jugs, and when it seemed like he would be there a while, I figured I'd come back as I'm in this area every once in a while. I found the old cache that was here a long time ago. I'll be back! Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!

I always like this park, because my family has gone camping here every year for as long as I can remember (since it was before I was born lol). I managed to find 38 (well, actually 37 finds and one note) before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #29. It could have been a little more difficult, but I knew right where to look because there were people finding it before when I drove by, and the lid wasn't put back on right, so it was somewhat obvious. I also have seen this kind of hide a bunch of times near my home, but always like them! I made sure to put it back so it blends in well. Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!

I managed to find 38 (well, actually 37 finds and one note) before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #30. I stopped in at the local business to take care of some business, and then went back out to find some more caches. On the way in to the store, I noticed that there was a business truck parked in a handicapped spot, with no placard or plate for being there. On the way out, I was pleasantly surprised to find a local police officer ticketing said vehicle. Nice to see someone getting dinged for breaking the rules like that. After seeing that, I headed over and grabbed this quick cache. Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!

I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #32. This was a quick find in a cool place - I always think these closed buildings are neat. It would be cool to see them use this for something other than a store, especially with that outdoor fenced in area. The area by the cache looks like the kind of place local kids would hang out - not sure if they do, but it seems like a good place for them. Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!

I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #33. This was a pretty sneaky hide. I looked at the container several times, after deciding with the current rain that I really didn't want to go trudging around in the bushes unless I had to. When I found it, a muggle came driving through, but I'm not sure why - not like this is a popular place with adults, I would assume. I signed the log, and then checked out the backside of the building, since the air conditioning apparatus and some other stuff looked pretty cool. Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!

Then, I went the hard way through the bushes, and saw the trail out afterwards. This is a cool place - might have to eat here sometime. Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!

Like I mentioned in my other log, after reading and doing some of these caches, I decided to renew my amateur radio license, which expired a year or so ago, and I've had for 20 years. KA3UWI will be back on the airwaves! Just another hide in the fashion of a lot of the ones that I put out. Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!

On the day of the Allegany GeoBash 2010, I decided to go up there, check out the area, and do a bunch of caches. I always like this park, because my family has gone camping here every year for as long as I can remember (since it was before I was born lol). I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #24. I thought when I pulled up, that this would be a really cool place to put a cache - I had seen one like this somewhere else, but the "container" wasn't real - it was just for the cache. This one was, and it was nice to find. Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here! I got a laugh out of a bumper sticker on the cars that were in the lot - several had them. I took a picture for myself.

I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #25. Before finding this, I decided to get some food since I hadn't eaten since this morning. I noticed when I pulled in that there was a cache closeby, but I got the food first, then went looking for the cache. It took two looks at the obvious spot before I found the not-so-obvious cache. There were caterpillars everywhere! Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!

I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event. This was #26. I had been here before looking, but never managed to find the cache. This time, it took about 2-3 minutes until I looked in the right place. I actually looked right at it, started to move on, and then decided to check what I thought might be it. It was. There were caterpillars everywhere here! Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!

I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event.

I always like this park, because my family has gone camping here every year for as long as I can remember (since it was before I was born lol). I managed to find 38 before I ran out of steam, and picked up a few cool things from the event.

This was #34. I was a little leery of going back here to look for this, and it definitely needs some serious CITO, but the container is HUGE! It was worth the climb. Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!

This was #35. This was a quick find, as it is pretty much right out in the open. I'm not sure if its supposed to be or not, so I left it there. The container could probably use replacing, as it seems some animal decided to snack on it, and its not watertight anymore. Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!

This was #37, my last one for the day before heading home. I went in the hard way, first by going around the block, and then thinking about it and going in the right driveway. Then, I went the hard way through the bushes, and saw the trail out afterwards. This is a cool place - might have to eat here sometime. Thanks for putting this one out, and for bringing me here!
