FireRef (Needs Archived) GCX2M4 - A Lost Park (2/2.5) by Club Midnight
Because I was bored out of my mind, I decided to go out and spend some time picking up some caches I hadn't done East of my house. This was one of several on a 3 hour run, mostly in the dark - didn't work out so well, because I believe I missed some easy ones because of that, but it was fun.
I looked for this one a while back, with no luck. After reading through the most recent logs, I decided to not even attempt it again, and figured I'd flag it so it might get reviewed by a reviewer since no one else has - Nice place for a cache - wish there was one there.

FireRef (Found it) GC1HJ47 - Old #3 (1.5/1.5) by Chipper725
This was another morning of picking up caches on the West side of town while waiting between dropping off and picking up a fellow cacher at summer school at McDowell. It is a good way to kill a few hours, because I don't seem to do many of the local ones all that often.
I had often thought this would be a nice place to put a cache, but was surprised at the size of this one and how obvious it is. All it needs is one of those "Official Geocache Monitoring Station" stickers, and it would be perfect! Thanks for bringing me here - I'm a teacher, so schools are kind of near and dear to me. Plus the reason I am on this side of town this morning. Thanks for putting this out!

I spent about 5 minutes hunting for this, and based on the side and location, I don't think it is there anymore (also based on the last couple of logs). Thanks for bringing me here - I'll probably come back if it turns out it is here, or it gets replaced!

This was a really neat cache in terms of the location - I have driven by this barn a number of times, but never really knew the history behind it. The old brewery was just demolished a few years back - we watched it from my school (Collegiate Academy) when it was happening - most of the school watched in the auditorium, and they had cameras set up in the library. Thanks for bringing me here.
Just on a side note - the coordinates for the cache should be updated on the page, rather than just in the description - it's easy to do, and if you need help, just let me know. Thanks!

This one was funny - it took me about 2 minutes of hunting around before I saw the obvious location of the cache, and then I was like "duh!" - thanks for bringing me here. It is well stocked. I had to look up what the micro was, and decided not to look for it because I didn't want to have 2 smileys on one cache - I try to keep my numbers consistent, and I think that would probably mess something up somewhere along the way, but thanks for putting both of them out!

This was the most unusual guardrail cache I've seen lately - I like the fact that there is a very nice size container that could contain some stuff in it, rather than just the usual log. Thanks for bringing me here, for putting this one out, and for adding another smiley to my total!

This one took me a while as I hunted around the two likely hiding places, and probably on my third attempt at the actual location, I found it. I wasn't expecting that, but it worked out pretty well - thanks for bringing me here and for putting these out and helping me add to my smiley total.

Several cars came out of the private drive while I was there, but they didn't pay any attention to me. I found the cache (this could be a difficult one depending on time of the year), signed the log, and moved on. Thanks for bringing me here!

This was a lucky quick find for me. The name made sense when I got there, but there could have been a dozen places the cache could have been. I found it in the first place I looked with no trouble. I signed the log, returned it, and headed out to the next cache. I remember doing a few other ones in this area a little while back. Thanks for bringing me here!

This was the last one that I went to do this morning, because on my way back from it, I got a text that school was over earlier than I thought, and needed to head back to get my passenger. I went for this one because I don't do too much in the way of multis, and wanted to get some of the local caches that I had ignored for a long time. I walked down the trails the wrong way to start with, and ended up almost back to my car before I realized I needed to follow a different trail. I followed the trail until I found stage one - that was pretty cool. I am not sure if i managed to get the top part stuck on too tight, because I had trouble removing it, and when I put it back on, noticed the opening near the bottom that cleared out, and wanted to remove the top again to make sure it was back the way it should be, I couldn't remove it again. Very cool though! Stage 2 was a quick find, and I'm glad it was where I thought it was, because it would have been a lot of work to get back to the other possible location. This was when I got the text, so I headed back to the car after finding the cache, and then headed to pick him up. Thanks for bringing me here - I have to do the other multi sometime in the next couple of days!

This was one of four caches on a very short run that BVFDJR and I did. It wasn't quite where I had planned to go, but it worked out very well in the end.
We stopped here because we were on our way up to where BVFDJR's mom works in order to pick up some motion sickness medicine. I actually had to stop once on the way up here because he wasn't feeling well - he said he never gets motion sick, but he apparently does once in a while. While we were waiting for his mom to get back to where we could meet her, we stopped to pick up this cache and one other. Thanks for bringing us here - I think I got one near the local business this one was named after a while back - not sure if its still around or not.

I mentioned this one to BVFDJR because he likes the high terrain caches. I had looked for this one a while back, and after 15 minutes or so, decided to break off the search when I reread the page and realized it was actually a multi, and not a traditional. I figured with BVFDJR's woodsyness (if there is such a word), we would have some luck finding this one because he wouldn't give up until we did. We took about 15 minutes to find stage one. The paper was pretty wet, but it was in very good shape considering how wet it was. We then went to find stage two, and found it very quickly once we got through the thorns. BVFDJR didn't realize we were going into the woods much, so he wore shorts and a sleeveless shirt, and he's probably going to pay for it later - haha. We headed back out after stage two, and then went to see his mother for some motion sickness medicine, but I don't think he even needed it anymore - he was doing much better than our last stop. Thanks for the cache, and I'm really glad to get this one off of my list!

I was expecting, reading the description and seeing the terrain rating, that we would have to do some serious climbing, hiking, or bushwacking to get to this one - I didn't expect a 8 foot or so decline, and then open territory to the cache. It did take a few minutes to find, because we had trouble getting the picture of the container online, but once we did, we found it with no trouble. Cache is in good shape and well hidden. Thanks for bringing us here. Now, we decided to hit something really hard, and headed for Ridge Runner... but that's another story. Thanks for putting this one out!

This was one heck of a cache. I had done the HMMHC cache a long time ago - almost 3 years based on checking the log when we hit it on the way back out. BVFDJR really likes hard terrain caches, and we figured this would qualify - and boy did it. We started down the hill like I remembered, with no problems. When we got to the bottom, we started heading toward stage one. This wasn't too bad, but BVFDJR had a little trouble because of having to navigate through a lot of brush, and he wore shorts. Stage one wasn't too bad, but it was funny, because normally he finds them right away, and he went around the wrong side of the tree. There was a very nice tree-stand there for hunting - we thought that was the cache, but it didn't make any sense and didn't help us find anything coordinate-wise. When I looked around, I found it without any problems, and away we went.
Getting to stage two was a little wetter than I expected - ended up barefoot with my jeans hiked up, wading through the water - haven't done that in a while. It was fun - BVFDJR just went through the water, sneakers and all. We got to stage two, and only took a minute or two to find it - BVFDJR found this one quickly, but a little away from where we started looking. The clue was spot on. On to stage 3.
WOW... what a climb... I wasn't out of breath, but it was a long climb. When we finally got to the top, it was pretty easy from there on in, and then we found a very nice house foundation, I think - this would have been a weird place to have a home, but maybe it was a really long time ago. We found the cache without any problems, and then headed back - long trip, but well worth it. We stopped by the HMMHC cache on the way back - it was in good shape. Thanks for bringing us down here and putting these out - it was well worth the soreness tomorrow for the fun we had!
