Geocaching Logs from 10-18-09

=== 2009-10-18 ===========================================================================

FireRef (Found it) GC1FAMG - Nanda Panda Bear's TB Motel and Restaurant (1.5/1.5) by Grandma Nan
This was 1 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

We stopped here pretty quickly and found the cache pretty quickly as well. This was difficult to get the lid back on because it was so full of TB's, and I just didn't feel like trying to move any at this point since we were working for numbers today. Thanks for putting this one out and adding to our numbers for the day!

FireRef (Found it) GCRE2Y - La Grange (1.5/1.5) by ScouterMark
This was 2 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This one took a few minutes - FFKid was doing some driving with his permit, and we parked nearby and then headed over to look. I spotted this one after a few minutes - I always have trouble with ones like this on military monuments (and bridge caches... I have problems with those too!) because there's just so many places they can be found. Thanks for bringing us here and adding to our total!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1YY98 - Who Was Joseph Morgan? (1.5/1.5) by ace-357
This was 3 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was one of the first caches that FFKid and I decided to try working on specific jobs - I went back to the car after we both made the discovery while he was writing our names, and got the maps ready for the next cache on our run. This would have worked much better if FFKid had a functional pen! After he retrieved another one, we got the log signed and headed on to the next one. Thanks for putting this out and bringing us here!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1YY5W - Cobblestone (1.5/1) by ace-357
This was 4 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

We stopped for this one and hunted a while, but were thrown a little off by the previous log entries - some seemed to indicate to look somewhere it wasn't. We found it after a few minutes, took care of the log, and headed out - very well done cache.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1ERBH - Mission Control (2/1.5) by Teenykins
This was 5 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

We found this one relatively quickly - within a few seconds of getting to the right place. What was funny was that as soon as FFKid said "don't let the log blow away", the wind caught it and I ended up chasing it up the driveway for almost a city block. FFKid stood there laughing the entire time - I almost ran into the gate also, because I managed to look up just before I would have run into it. Thanks for the cache and the exercise!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GCKH9P - Tennis Anyone? (2/1) by stashseekers
This was 6 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick, easy find, which is more than I expected from reading the description. FFKid and I got it and filled out the log, and then headed off to do the nearby one on the road. FFKid mentioned how hard it is to play tennis, and I explained it isn't that difficult- you just have to think of the racket as an extension of your hand, similar to any sport with a stick type object - like lacrosse or baseball. On to the next one! Thanks for the cache!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1TX54 - RIT Small Backroad Cache (1.5/1) by Badger61
This was 7 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

We started out looking where we thought this one would be, and then after a few minutes of not finding it in the obvious places, we widened our search (which actually took us to GZ), and found it after a few minutes. FFKid found this one. Thanks for bringing us here. A former student/basketball player goes to this school - I tried to contact him through Facebook to let him know I was in the area, but never heard anything back. Thanks for the cache!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1ZCQV - Southtown - Winter Quarters (1/1) by amerkfan
This was 8 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick easy find in the middle of a parking lot. FFKid took care of this one while I was looking ahead to see where we were headed next. Thanks for bringing us here. Wish we could have found the one on the sign nearby, but that just wasn't in the cards (and we didn't spend as much time as we could have on it either.) Thanks for the cache!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GCM3QT - Do NOT Find This Cache!! (Adopted By:KraftyCacher) (1/1.5) by KraftyCacher
This was 9 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was hard to resist - because we were looking for numbers - so it did call to me and make me want to find it. Thanks for bringing us here. FFKid made the find and we signed the log and moved on. I don't know if I am addicted, but we did try to get 1800 today and managed to for me. Thanks for putting this one out!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1G0X9 - Rio's Geo[Cache] (1/1) by SkiBug5
This was 10 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick cache and dash, but was funny because while FFKid sat in the car, I made the find and signed the log, but there was a muggle standing nearby smoking. He offered me his cell phone to use if I needed it, thinking I was there to make a call. I thanked him, told him I was on a scavenger hunt, and we moved on. Thanks for bringing us here and putting this cache out!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1596R - Shall We Dance ? (1.5/1) by Mebbe
This was 11 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was another quick cache and dash in the same plaza as the last one we did - we almost left the parking lot before I realized it was in the same lot, so we headed over. FFKid made the grab, signed the log for us, and we headed on. After this one showed up on my facebook page (from the Twitter logging thing from field notes), I got some funny messages from people telling me they didn't want to dance with me. Thanks for bringing us here and for putting the cache out!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1RN2N - Eye C U (1/1) by SkiBug5
This was 12 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick find in a parking lot. I thought the case was cool, because of the theme of the cache. As the day wore on, I saw a couple more of these containers at various caches. We seem to have a lot of pill bottles in my area (Erie, Pa), because of an older lady who puts a lot of caches out and uses her empty medicine bottles, so I wonder if this is the same kind of thing. Thanks for the cache and for bringing us here!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GCM7T6 - Change of Knickers- Rochester Visitor’s Info South (1.5/1.5) by Chemist Kahuna
This was 13 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick find for FFKid, but took a few minutes total because I was distracted by the container on the lightpole which doesn't seem to be related to the cache at all. I searched through the cache page for hints that would allow me to open it, but after a few minutes, FFKid came over, and started looking around, and then found the container quickly. Thanks for bringing us here and putting this out! On to the next one...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1W61D - Micro Mike 104 "JOE" (1/1) by amerkfan
This was 14 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick, easy find for me, with FFKid getting set up in the car to go to the next one. I don't usually find containers this large in these kinds of locations, so it was nice not to just find another filmcan. Thanks for putting this here. After signing the log and getting back into the car, FFKid, who is still working on his learner's permit, had a little confusion with gas and brake (or was it forward and reverse), and almost hit a short parked bus that was near the cache. No harm, no foul. He did tell me the story of another junior firefighter who managed to confuse brake and gas, and almost ran into a parked car in the space ahead of him when pulling into another space - the joys of learner's permits - haha!

FireRef (Found it) GCJ651 - Off Your Rocker in Rochester (2.5/1.5) by OurWoods
This was 15 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a cache which took a few minutes. There were muggles all around, coming and going for the store and restaurant, but we pretty much ignored them and checked out all of the equipment and materials in the area, and I came up with the find. There was an odd machine there that I wasn't really sure what it did - looked like it was for boiling something maybe and separating something maybe, but we were more concerned with finding the cache than trying to figure out what it did. Thanks for bringing us here. I remember eating at some of these, but not very often. Thanks for the cache!

FireRef (Found it) GC1GJTR - Rio's Geo[Cache] Three (1/1) by SkiBug5
This was 16 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a find I pretty much did on my own, because there was some kind of a bridal show in the building nearby, and constant people and traffic, so instead of parking near GZ, FFKid just kind of drove around the parking lot until I came up with the find, signed the log, and was ready to get going. Thanks for putting this here - I expected a much smaller container considering this series, and was pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the cache!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1C462 - Henrietta Brown 1812 (2/1.5) by EarthDawg
This was 17 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick find, for one of us. FFKid pulled a common trick that him and some friends like to do when we go caching - if he finds the cache, he wanders off and signs the log for everyone, and then when we're ready to give up, unless I manage to find it, he mentions that he already found it. I got burned by this a bunch of times when we went before. He tends to wander away from GZ looking a lot of different places, so it doesn't seem odd when he wanders off. The sad thing this time is that he found it, said out loud that he found it, but since I had wandered away in another direction, I didn't hear him, so he decided to mess with me, wandered the other way, and took care of the log. When I saw him, I figured he was texting someone, so I didn't think he had found it. He got me good! Thanks for the cache and for bringing us here!

FireRef (Found it) GC1AXYE - Furple's Cache & Dash (1/1.5) by amerkfan
This was 18 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick find that I made - I didn't expect to find it that easily, and I expected a little bigger container, but its all good. FFKid and I discussed the run-down hotel nearby and joked a little about it while we were finding out way out of the parking lot. Looks like someone did some CITOing in this area because every tree had a full garbage bag near the base, and these are like 15 feet apart, so good job! Thanks for the cache and for bringing us here!

FireRef (Found it) GC1R0N7 - Going to see ol' Grandpa G (1.5/1.5) by Dr Foreman
This was 19 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a nice little cemetery that we checked out and found the cache pretty quickly. Thanks for bringing us here. We ended up parking across the street in a short little driveway (we stopped well before the private property sign), so I helped FFKid get backed out of the driveway. Because of doing this for firetrucks and ambulances, we both know what we're doing with this kind of thing. Thanks for bringing us here and for putting this one out!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC18DQA - Net, Set, Goal! (2.5/1.5) by I_Wuz_Lost
This was 20 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick find that FFKid picked up without too much trouble. He thought the picnic table looked a little weird but I explained why it had the projection off the one end. Doesn't seem like it would be too easy for someone in a wheelchair to get down to this area, but that's ok. I had some trouble finding it because I found a really good spot for it, but it wasn't there. Guess my geosense wasn't very on today - haha. Thanks for bringing us here and for putting it out!

FireRef (Found it) GC17131 - The Family Plot (1.5/1) by I_Wuz_Lost
This was 21 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick find in a small, out of the way cemetery. I thought it was funny that it wasn't marked in any way, and there had to be a path cut through the corn field to get to the cemetery area. A path about 4-5 stalks wide was cut through the area as a path to go to the back. We found the cache quickly (I made the find), and thought it was nice that it was a completely new one. Well stocked, and halloween theme for sure! Thanks for bringing us here and for putting this one out!

FireRef (Found it) GC1H60M - Small Fry (1/1) by bcbushwackers
This was 22 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick find, once we got into the right parking lot. I was a little late in my directions to FFKid for where to turn into. Thanks for bringing us here - it was a quick cache and dash. Part of the problem was that in reading the description, we were looking for it to be at a fast food restaurant, but not quite in this case. Thanks for putting this cache out!

FireRef (Found it) GC1H610 - Little Duck (1.5/1) by bcbushwackers
This was 23 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a nice little walk, because we couldn't find parking really close to where it was. We walked down the boardwalk, and I thought it was cool that they had a drinking fountain which was for adults, kids, and dogs! I took a photo - I'll probably upload it at some point, but posted it on my Facebook page. Thanks for bringing us here - it was a quick find once we got down to the right place, and it was nice to get out and stretch our legs since we'd been going for a few hours at this point. The dock close to where we were going looked like it was a suicide spot, since you just kind of would walk out the little dock and fall off the end if there wasn't a boat there, and there wasn't any special place for a boat to tie off to or anything. Thanks for the cache!

FireRef (Found it) GC1G8Q6 - Rio's Geo[Cache] Two (1/1) by SkiBug5
This was 23 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick easy find that FFKid got himself, while I worked on getting the next cache in line into the GPSes, computer, maps, logging finds, and all of the other things that I was doing as part of my job on this adventure. Thanks for bringing us here and putting out this cache!

FireRef (Found it) GC1GBE3 - Eye Got It! (1/1) by SkiBug5
This was 24 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick find, but surprised me a little because when I was pulling it out of its hiding place, I looked up and saw several people in suits staring at me from inside the store...oh wait, those are mannequins wearing suits and just standing there in the window - whew - haha. Thanks for putting this one out and bringing us here!

FireRef (Found it) GC1HH8Q - Tale of Two Bridges (1.5/1.5) by Hutch48
This was 25 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick find once we figured out how to get where we were going - took a little driving to find the actual location. Once we got there, we searched for a few minutes and then came up with the find. FFKid managed to comment on how one of the logs I worked on blew away earlier today, and I said it was probably going to happen again if he kept reminding me about it - since that is how it happened the first time. Thanks for bringing us here and putting this cache out!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1QGRA - The Cell Knells (1/1.5) by Chemist Kahuna
This was 26 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

We weren't quite sure on this one what the name had to do with the location - but we searched for it anyway. After a few minutes of FFKid searching while I got things set up for the next cache, I got out to help him with finding it. I didn't manage to find it, but he did - it was on the back side of the tree that I was looking at, and never would have seen it if he wasn't on the other side. Thanks for bringing us here and showing us this area, as well as putting this cache out!

FireRef (Found it) GCX39P - Cache-n-Dash #4 (1.5/1) by Z-Files
This was 27 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was another similar find to a lot we had done earlier in the day - nice way to make some quick caches for some numbers. They remind me of the caches in the Buffalo area from the "Bee" series. I found a ton of those with FFKid before. After this, we decided to find someplace to eat (since we had been caching all day), and looked for a nice oriental buffet nearby. Thanks for putting these out and showing us parts of Rochester!

This was a pretty quick cache that FFKid found. No problems with this one, but we were thinking this was a dentist's office when we saw the name - not quite, when we read the building - haha. Thanks for bringing us here and showing us the area.

FireRef (Found it) GC1QWDB - Death by Dinner Mint (1.5/2) by Hakaishi
This was 30 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This one was a little confusing, as the map seemed to take us a different place from where the GPS took us. We went into the corner of the cemetery after looking at the map, and then worked our way away from it as we were looking for the cache using the GPS to guide us. It happened to be in the first place I checked using the hint, and I was glad, because I don't usually like reaching into places I can't see. Cool container!

There were a lot of other geocachers in the cemetery today, as we ran across a bunch of people with gps's - I checked out one of the nearby caches, and it seems like it is a relatively confusing and long multi, but looks like it would be really cool to do. I did one of them in a local cemetery a year or two ago and really enjoyed checking out some of the stones that we needed to look at to find the next stage. Might have to come back and try to complete it someday! Thanks for the cache and showing us this HUGE cemetery!

FireRef (Found it) GC1ZHCH - I caught you lookin' (1.5/1.5) by jackflack
This was 31 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick cache and dash - no problems encountered, and no one checking us out - might have been because it was a Sunday afternoon, so no one was really around to check us out checking out the cache. Interesting container! Thanks for bringing us to this place and giving us another smiley!

FireRef (Found it) GC1QRPX - Commemorating Rochester Area CITO 2009 (1.5/2) by Team GeoGriffin
This was 32 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

I decided to take the hard way into this one - FFKid found a much easier way in, and we used that to get back out. After checking the area, he went one way and I went the other, and he managed to find it. Like an earlier cache, FFKid found it, said that he found it, and I managed to not hear him, so he went and hid under the bridge while signing the log and looking through the contents. Thanks for bringing us here and showing this area - looks like the CITO must have worked, because there wasn't much trash lying around.

FireRef (Found it) GC1JHGX - Riverview Cache (2/1) by ddemarle
This was 33 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a quick find on a boardwalk - the one unusual thing about this time was that FFKid found some weird kind of fruit on the boardwalk, and kicked it off into the water - not quite a good kick, because it actually only rolled off and plopped in. But thanks for bringing us here and letting us find a cache here!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1JK1M - Running cache (2/1) by ddemarle
This was 34 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

Thanks for bringing us here - this was a quick park and grab in a very urban area. I expected to have to hunt for a little while, but managed to spot it very quickly - it seems like it would have trouble staying here, but I don't know. Thanks for putting it out and giving me one more smiley!

FireRef (Found it) GC19H46 - Raven's Cache (3/1) by ddemarle
This was 35 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

We stopped to pick this one up, and the hint was helpful - we started into the park, and realized it was pretty close to where we parked. So we went back and I made the find very quickly. This was probably good because just as we were getting back into the car, a group of people were headed through the park and it would have been difficult to hide what we were doing. Thanks for bringing us here!

FireRef (Found it) GC1W65P - Cocoon (1.5/1.5) by amerkfan
This was 36 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

On the way to this one, I tried to explain a little about the movie to FFKid, but couldn't remember enough details for it to really make sense. It was kind of a weird movie from what I remember at 14 years old, which is when it came out. This was a quick find for FFKid with no problems. We stopped here for a few minutes, and then headed on to the next cache. Thanks for bringing us here and putting this one out!

This was a walk up and find cache for me - It was the first place I looked. Thanks for putting this out - several of the attachments to it are not attached anymore, but it is still able to stay in its hiding place well - the owner might want to check on it however. Nice hide! I haven't found one like this for a while - they are always cool.

This was 38 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday. I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

This was a pretty quick find - only took a few minutes. When we were walking back to the car, we ran into the owner who came over and introduced himself. At first I was worried that it was a muggle that saw us find it and would mess up the cache, but that worry was short lived as he introduced himself. Nice to meet you, and nice cache! Thanks for putting it out and bringing us here!

This was the second cache in a row that FFKid and I ran into people related to the cache. A van with several people stopped and said that they were relatives of the cache owner. After we looked around for a while, and had our hands on it several times, we managed to find it. It seems that it might be a little damaged, but was in good enough shape to last for a while. The people that were there said they would make sure to let the owner know what we found. Thanks for putting this out and bringing us to this area - it was a really cool cache!

We stopped for another one in this park, but weren't able to. When we realized there was another easy one nearby, we stopped for this one. I found it right away - never saw one of these used as a cache container before! Thanks for bringing us here and putting this out!

This was #1799 for me. FFKid and I were looking for some easy ones on the way home to Erie in order to get me up to 1800 before the end of this trip. We were going to grab a few at rest stops between Rochester and Erie, but we either had already gotten them or there weren't any in the rest stop. Thanks for bringing us here - it was a quick, easy find, and got me within one of my goal! On to 1800!

This was 42 of 42 caches that FFKid and I went looking for and found on this Sunday, and was also #1800 for me! I set up a cache run to the area around Rochester, NY, with the intention of getting as many as we could. I wanted to top my record of 47 in a day, but we just weren't able to do it. Maybe next time. But 1800 is nice!

This was a quick find for me - I managed to grab it right as I was walking by the area it was hidden in. FFKid, with the GPS, headed toward the middle of the field confused, because there wasn't anywhere for the cache to be where he was. I tried to play it off that I hadn't found it, but I don't do a very good job of hiding that - FFKid and his friend BVFDJR manage to do that to me all the time - find it, get the log signed, and get it returned before I notice, then mess with my head. I just can't seem to do it - haha. So we signed the log and headed home - thanks for bringing us here - We have been to the nearby skatepark a couple of times - cool place!

FireRef (Found it) GC1KX7Q - STOP!! (1.5/1.5) by Dove78
This was 1 of 7 I found (and some DNF's) on Saturday - I was actually here last weekend with my dad and for some reason didn't have this one on my list of ones to do - maybe because it hadn't been found in a little while. Thanks for bringing me back here! My dad told me he did some cable engineering for the phone company years ago in this area when he was here with me.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1RQ7Q - Field Of Dreams (1.5/1.5) by 0newithwild
This was 2 of 7 I found (and some DNF's) on Saturday. This was a quick easy find, but I had to worry a little about muggles because there was a lady walking her dog by as I was looking for it. What was weird was that she walked her dog to the other side of the street, seemingly to avoid me. Thanks for the cache!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1V85H - On the Corner between Two and Four (1.5/1) by roamingraccoons
This was 3 of 7 I found (and some DNF's) on Saturday. The first time I stopped by here there was an older couple working on loading lawn scraps (sticks and stuff) into a small trailer. So I thought I'd come back later. I went to look for another cache, and since I had to drive back by here on the way back, I thought I'd stop by again. I'm glad I did because this was a cool hide. I found it pretty quickly, but I don't think most people would. I was actually not expecting it to be the cache until the last second when I saw it. I can't say much more without giving away details, but it was a very cool hide! Thanks for putting it out!

FireRef (Found it) GC1RKKQ - Seaway Trail #11-Dead End (1.5/1.5) by beanbag63
This was 4 of 7 I found (and some DNF's) on Saturday. It took me about 15 minutes, but mainly because I was looking in the wrong place. I found it pretty quickly once I looked in the right place. I tend to get tunnel vision a lot of times, and forget about "other" possible hiding places. Thanks for putting this one out!

FireRef (Found it) GC1FRR2 - Guard of the Lyons Watering Hole (1/1) by jojojousa
This was 5 of 7 finds on a Saturday cache run to the near New York area. I found this one quickly, but it seems to be missing some parts and the log is very wet - it needs some replacement. I would have replaced the container but I didn't have any lying around, so I had to leave it as it was. Thanks for bringing me here - I did a cache up the road a little while back.

FireRef (Found it) GC1TDFN - Old Yeller (1/1) by FORK
This was 6 of 7 finds on a Saturday cache run to the near New York area. It was a quick find - no problems here - I figured it would have some kind of dog or reading theme, but I got it when I got there. I drove past this one on the way to find FORK, but didn't manage to find that one. Thanks for bringing me here and making the trip get me at least one smiley :)

This was 1 of 13 caches I did on a run of simple park-and-grabs with my dad. Thanks for putting it out! This was a cool container - the log does need replaced, however, as I was barely able to squeeze my name into a space between a couple of others. Thanks for bringing us here!

FireRef (Found it) GC1R9V2 - Number Three from brickhead28 (1.5/1.5) by brickhead28
This was 2 of 13 caches I did on a run of simple park-and-grabs with my dad. Thanks for putting it out! I was in this area a long time ago, maybe 15 years, with a rescue of a 12 year old boy from down in the gully nearby. It was one of the first rescue calls I was on when I started out as a volunteer fireman. Eh - maybe that was 20 years ago - haha. Thanks for the quick easy find to add to my numbers!

FireRef (Found it) GC1R1TY - Number Two from Brickhead28 (1/1) by brickhead28
This was 3 of 13 caches I did on a run of simple park-and-grabs with my dad. Thanks for putting it out! Another quick easy find - my dad likes to wander to the other side of the road from me for some reason, but most of the time it is on my side. I believe this time he looked right at where it was but missed it because he didn't look from the right angle, and doesn't usually stick his hand in as many places as I am willing to. Thanks for bringing us here!

FireRef (Found it) GC1J6YM - GR2 (1.5/1.5) by grammyannie
This was 6 of 13 caches I did on a run of simple park-and-grabs with my dad. Thanks for putting it out! This was a nice fast one for us because the coords were very close to where it was. Thanks! We realized there was another one close that wasn't on my list of ones to hit, so we went and did that one next.

FireRef (Found it) GC1J6XX - GR1 (1.5/1.5) by grammyannie
This was 7 of 13 caches I did on a run of simple park-and-grabs with my dad. Thanks for putting it out! This wasn't on my list of caches to hit for today because I filtered out ones that weren't found in the last 7 days, and so it was skipped because it was last found like 10 days ago. Thanks for putting all of these out - good use for these bottles after their primary use has been fulfilled....or full-emptied - haha.

This was 8 of 13 caches I did on a run of simple park-and-grabs with my dad. Thanks for putting it out! Wow - my dad made the find on this by noticing something that seemed out of place. I probably never would have noticed this. Thanks for a really cool cache!

FireRef (Found it) GC1TCAJ - Choke & Puke No More (1.5/1.5) by MickEMT
This was 9 of 13 caches I did on a run of simple park-and-grabs with my dad. Thanks for putting it out! My dad stated that he ate here a few times when he was younger - I don't ever remember this place being open. He mentioned it seems like most businesses don't seem to survive here for some reason - doesn't make sense since it is the last exit before you have to pay a toll to be on the road. Thanks for bringing us here - it was cool to look at the building I've driven by a bunch of times up close.

FireRef (Found it) GC1RKK9 - Seaway Trail #2-Express (1/1.5) by beanbag63
This was 10 of 13 caches I did on a run of simple park-and-grabs with my dad. Thanks for putting it out! This was a quick find near the last cache. This was 11 of 13 caches I did on a run of simple park-and-grabs with my dad. Thanks for putting it out! I didn't know there was another cache at this rest stop - I looked for one at the other end of it, and can't remember at this point if I ever found it, but this one must be relatively new. Thanks for bringing us here!

FireRef (Found it) GC1KX88 - Ripley Community Park Micro (1.5/1.5) by Dove78
This was 13 of 13 caches I did on a run of simple park-and-grabs with my dad. Thanks for putting it out! This wasn't as much a park and grab as it was a little walk in the park. The cache wasn't quite where the coords took us, and we spent about 20 minutes looking around before we finally found it based on the hint and previous logs. Thanks for giving us some fun today. We headed out from here to have one DNF close by, and then headed home.

This was the first cache that myself and Lil Bro B went and did today on a short cache run in the Erie area. We decided to hit some of the ones in the Erie area. This was a quick easy find, and he knew right where to go, even though he has only gone caching with me a couple of times. Thanks for putting this one out, and for all of the caches you make available for us to find!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1P7Q3 - Dont' Get Stumped (1/1) by SPHOONY
This was the second of 7 caches that Lil Bro B and I looked for on this nice warm fall evening. We stopped by this house, which I had considered looking for before, but didn't feel comfortable by myself, so we grabbed it when there were several of us. This was a quick find - cool way to hide it, in plain site. Thanks for putting it out!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Didn`t find it) GC1YY91 - Scary Park (1/1.5) by The Goonies 7
Lil Bro B and me looked for this cache for about 20 minutes - no luck. I read through the old logs, and realized that it had been moved since it was originally placed, but we were looking in the place that the new info pointed us toward. We also noticed that it had been found 4 times today before we showed up, which surprised us that we just couldn't come up with the find. We went in the park and looked for Dery's Gold Cache, which we found, and then looked for a few minutes when we came back out with no luck. We'll have to swing back by here sometime soon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1R9T4 - Dery's Gold Cache (2/2.5) by Dery
This was the third cache that Lil Bro B and me looked for tonight and found. This was a cool walk through this little park - I had been here a few times with some other cachers or friends, and remember some interesting caches placed in here. It also seems like they get muggled a lot by the kids that come through here, but I think this one should last a while considering how it is hidden. We got to it, signed the log, and headed back out. Thanks for bringing us here - we managed 1 of the 2 caches in the park, because we DNF'd the new one at the entrance.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1Z0YW - People Helping People (1.5/1.5) by llizb
This was the fourth of 7 caches that Lil Bro B and I went looking for tonight. We actually were headed toward this one when my fire department got a call for a structure fire - Lil Bro B is actually planning on joining this coming month. We headed to the FD, I got on the first Engine out, and just as we were about to leave, we got word that it was a controlled burn. Darn - and I made the first engine! Oh well. Once we got cleaned up, we headed out and looked for this cache for about 15 minutes before we found it. This particular location I had skated at a while back with some friends, so I was familiar with this parking lot. Thanks for bringing us here! Lil Bro B managed to scratch up his leg on a bunch of prickers and I almost got a large branch stick in (yes, IN!) my leg, but we managed to make the find and get out without any serious injuries. Thanks for putting this cache out!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1JVKG - The Great Wall (1.5/1) by Newt22
This was the fifth of seven caches that Lil Bro B and I did tonight. This was a quick find, and with about a half hour before we needed to head back, this was a fun one to grab. Lil Bro B mentioned he likes this kind more than the long walks in the woods that usually happen with most of the people we go caching with like to find. Thanks for bringing us here - 2 of the other people I cache with have job interviews at the biggest store in the plaza sometime later this week. Hope they have good luck!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1PW7Y - We Need a NEW one! (1.5/1.5) by Newt22
This was the sixth of seven caches that Lil Bro B and I did on this short cache run this evening. This has been here for a while, and I was here when the Cider Mill burned. I actually had a ton of photos of the fire, since I was the photographer for the fire department whose area this is in at the time it burned. Thanks for bringing me back here. I'd like to see them get around to rebuilding this, but the owner doesn't seem to be in any hurry to do so. We hunted for about 15 minutes, and finally found it in a simple place that we just overlooked the first time we looked there. Thanks for the cache!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FireRef (Found it) GC1MJZZ - My Everyday Run To The Mill (1.5/1.5) by brickhead28
This was the seventh of seven caches that Lil Bro B and I did on this short evening of caching. We looked in the wrong place at first until we looked at the satellite views of the area - once we looked there, it was right where we thought it would be. Thanks for bringing me back here - I used to be a fireman in the local department and have been up here a lot of times - I am now in a department further East, so I'll only be here once in a while with assist calls. Thanks for the cache!

This was on a short trip down to the Titusville to see a soccer game. I never did manage to find the soccer game, but picked up a few caches while I was in the area. I need to come back down here and see if I can clean some more out of the area because I didn't realize how many there were around this area. Thanks for bringing me here. A little muddy, but not a bad cache at all. I always enjoy spending a little time looking at the gravestones that are in some of these cemeteries.

I came in for this one the wrong way, even if that seems hard considering where it was placed - there were a lot of thorns the first way I tried. When I came in the other side, it turns out there was a trail there so it was a lot easier to get to. It was a quick find, with a lot of bugs on the container, but the inside was clean. Thanks!

I went looking for this on the evening that it was published, but decided against actually hunting for it because there were a couple of skaters hanging around ground zero. Only problem was everyone in the group except me and the little brother have fire school class tomorrow, which didn't help us stay out attempting them. We did 6, and then headed home. I'm going to try to complete more of them early in the day tomorrow. Thanks for putting this series out - we were in need of a cool series in the area! We took a while to get to this one because there was just no easy way into this parking lot, but we eventually made the find.

No luck here - hunted for about 15 minutes in the obvious and not-so-obvious places, before everyone was too tired to continue. You might want to check on this one. Thanks for putting them out though!

FireRef (Found it) GC1X1G9 - No Safety Cap (1.5/1.5) by grammyannie
While hanging out at our new FD, I got a text message of this one being published, and FFKid and I set out to make the FTF. We managed to get it first. Coords seemed a little off, because it took us almost 15 minutes to find, but we eventually did. I'll post new coords given to me by TPrints, because I didn't manage to take any myself, but he had the same problem. Thanks for putting this out and adding to the caches in this area!

FireRef (Found it) GC1TH5Z - Stuck at the Dead End (2/1.5) by brainandbraun
This was the last cache that BVFDJR, FFKid, and I did on a trip to Minnesota to go to the Mall of America, and check out some of the other sites in the area. We stopped here after eating in order to pick up a quick cache, and that was what it was. I was a little surprised by what the container was, but after we found it, we got MOOving again on our trip home. It was rather eventful, since we managed to damage the brakelight cord and had to replace it around 11pm in the dark, and also managed to find every campground near where we wanted to stay was full, so we drove through the night to return home, which wasn't quite our plan. Thanks for giving us a quick stop during our trip!

FireRef (Found it) GC7B09 - Mall of America Cache III (2/1) by TECGeoJim
This was one of the last couple of caches BVFDJR, FFKid, and I did on a trip to Minnesota to see the Mall of America and whatever other interesting things we could find. We actually looked for this one in the parking lot, because it is listed as a traditional, but realized when reading the cache page that it wasn't quite labeled correctly. We weren't able to go back in at that point (because we were all too tired to go chasing clues), but came back today. The first thing we did was solve the clues for the numbers, and that wasn't too bad except for one of them - we had a little trouble finding the one store. Then, we headed out to find the next part. It took a little while to find the tiles, but once we did, we found the right ones right away. Next stop was looking for the store that had the cache, and that was pretty quick once we figured out which direction to go. The gentleman in the store messed with us a little when we asked about the cache, but it was all in good fun. Thanks for bringing us here and taking us on the little tour of the mall. It was well worth the time!

This was just outside the campground we stayed at for the week. We waited until the last night we were there, and hunted for it after it was dark. It was a little difficult for us to find, stumbling around in the dark, but we eventually made the find. Thanks for bringing us here and putting this out for us to find!

This was one of about 11 caches that BVFDJR, FFKid, and I did on a roughly week long trip to go see the Mall of America and do some other fun stuff around it. This was on Day 4, when we were testing out my new iPhone 3GS and the geocaching application. It was a really simple cache, easy to find, and was pretty cool - I wasn't expecting the pig container that it was in. Sorry if that is some kind of spoiler, but for the kind of cache it is, it is a pretty cool improvement over what is normally there. This was also one of several we did to try to cheer up one of the members of our group, who, being quite far from home, was struggling a little with that. This one didn't do much for it, but some of the later ones did, so they achieved many purposes - found a cache, got more on our numbers, and had fun! Thanks for putting this one out!

I would also like to mention that in the spirit of trying to have some fun, FFKid managed to race me running backwards, never a smart idea, and managed to scratch up his hip and backside pretty good - definitely good for a laugh for everyone involved. Thanks for putting this out and for bringing us here!

This was one of about 11 caches that BVFDJR, FFKid, and I did on a roughly week long trip to go see the Mall of America and do some other fun stuff around it. This cache was outside the campground we stayed at on the first night of our trip, approximately halfway between home and our destination. We hunted for probably about 10 minutes before we finally found the container. It was supposed to be an easy cache, but we took a little longer than we probably should have. Thanks for putting this out, and for bringing us somewhere we could pick up a reasonably quick cache (and some of us could use the porta-potty - haha).

This was one of about 11 caches that BVFDJR, FFKid, and I did on a roughly week long trip to go see the Mall of America and do some other fun stuff around it. This was on Day 2 of our trip, while we were still working our way toward the Mall. We stopped here for a couple of reasons - bathroom break, and to pick up the cache. We went into the woods, and found this one relatively quickly. Thanks for bringing us here, and for putting this out. It was a little wet in there, mainly because it had rained overnight in the area, but well worth the slight dampness we experienced for the next couple of hours.

This was on Day 2, while we were still working our way toward the mall. We were looking for a couple of quick and easy caches, and this one seemed like it would have been one of these. We were wrong on that - it was a pretty long climb and distance from the parking area (and even further because we had parked in the area where trucks did because of towing a camper). By the time we got up to the cache, I was rather winded, and FFKid was irritated because he, like me, had expected it to be a quick and easy find, and although the find was, the getting there and back wasn't. He beat me back to the car by quite a bit, because he took a couple of shortcuts on the way. Thanks for putting this here and giving us a little exercise on a 14 hour trip!

FireRef (Found it) GC1W3MW - Near the Gas Well (1.5/1.5) by Dove78
This was one of several caches on a short run to the Westfield, NY area in search of a couple of FTF's. I managed to get the FTF's, shared with another group, and a couple of other caches along the way.

I decided to run out when this and another nearby cache were published, and headed right to this one to start with. I actually headed to the second one I found first, but realized there was no way to get there without going straight through someone's property. When I found the entrance to the Rails-to-Trails area, there was already a car there. I figured that I had no chance at the FTF now, and headed in expecting to find a group leaving. I ended up finding three people, known as OneWithWild, in the area of this cache. They indicated they had been there and hadn't found it, but had been there since 5 minutes after it had been published. This was over a half hour before I got there. We spent the next 15 minutes or so looking, and I decided I was going to head out and look for the second new one, because it seemed they would be similar containers from the descriptions, and that might help with this one. Just as I was about to leave, the youngest member of their group managed to spot it. Coordinates were spot on, so we shared the FTF on this one. Thanks for putting this one out and bringing us here!

I actually spotted this one as we were searching for it. It was in a common, likely place to put a cache like this - well hidden though. Coordinates were good! I shared the FTF with OneWithWild. They then headed back because they had already done the caches which were along this trail. I decided to pick up the next couple of close ones, since they weren't that far down the trail, so I headed to pick up a few more. When I got back to my car, I was surprised by a wooden nickel from the group I shared the FTF with. Thanks! They asked if I was the one who put out the wooden nickel and described my sig item, and I said yes, while we were walking between the two caches, but I didn't expect to get a gift from them. It's cool because I collect sig items! On to the next cache!

This was a pretty quick find once I got here - it took a little slogging through mud to get here, but that was kind of expected once I got through the first two new ones on the trail. I'm going to have to come back to this area, because for a relatively short walk, there are a ton of caches along these trails. Thanks for bringing me here and for putting this one out!

I spent about 15 minutes with a failing large flashlight (but a decent smaller one) looking for this one. It turned out that I had looked in the right place several times, but missed it due to the low light that was out, considering it was about 11:15 PM at this point. Thanks for putting this out - well stocked container! Now, back to the car and one more before I head home.

I couldn't believe this one took as long as it did. I have several of these caches out in my area, one not 50 feet from my house. This was one of 6 caches I attempted to find with my cousin, SnowDelta (not a very active cacher) and another younger cousin who has gone with us before. We were camping this week at Allegany State Park, and decided to spend a few hours caching today.

This was the first one we went looking for, and it was in a place I had put a cache a few years back, but has been gone for a year or so. We had a rather decent surprise, as did the people we happened on, when we approached the tennis courts. We heard dogs start barking, and a man came out from the area right behind the courts and talked with us. We noticed his companion walking away and kind of guessed we interrupted something. The third person with our group was completely clueless, which SnowDelta and I found funny and discussed on our way to the cache. We found it after about 15-20 minutes - it was a little ways away from where we thought it would be. Thanks for bringing us here - it was nice to see someone else thought this was a good place to put a cache! My family usually plays at least one baseball game and one set of tennis here during a normal year - this was a short year for us, so we didn't really do anything here at all. I also noticed when I had my cache here the number of people who mentioned that they had never known this place was here except for the cache - I knew about it since I was a little child. On to the next one!

This was a lot longer hike than we thought it would be, since it was almost all up hill to get to the cache. Since it seemed like it was a pretty good climb, I checked the altimeter on my GPS before we headed back down, and found out that we actually went up and down 500 feet in 3/4 of a mile. Thanks for bringing us here - It wasn't quite as well stocked as we thought it would be from the way it was described, but it was a nice place - I hadn't ever hiked quite this far up this trail. We decided after the long climb and descent that we would look for some simple easy caches for the next couple. Thanks for putting this cache out!

He spotted it after about 10 minutes - I can't believe we missed it before. Especially since I have a number of these out, one not 50 feet from my house. Thanks for putting this one out - it was a cool hide and I love the twist - and I can FINALLY get this one off my list!

This was one of 6 caches I attempted to find with my cousin, SnowDelta (not a very active cacher) and another younger cousin who has gone with us before. We were camping this week at Allegany State Park, and decided to spend a few hours caching today.

We came into this area to look for one that was supposed to be relatively easy to get to, but a little harder to find. It took probably a half hour for us to spot it - the youngest of our group picked it out without too much trouble - he just happened to be looking at the right place. Before he spotted it, we had several different ideas based on the description, hint, and past logs. We almost put ourselves in some rather dangerous areas based on the hints until it was spotted, and we were almost ready to give up, but the youngest in our group wouldn't give up, and wouldn't you know, he managed to find it. I managed to forget to keep my pen in my pocket, so I ended up signing the log with a stick and a leaf - it didn't work as well as it had before when I had to do it, so it might be a little hard to find my name on there, but it is! Thanks for bringing us here - cool idea. I actually suggested a similar one as a possible hiding method, so it was pretty neat to see that it was one possible thought I had, even though I wasn't the one to spot it.

Thanks for putting this one out - it served its purpose!

This was one we didn't find. We spent probably a half hour over, under, on, and around the bridge here. It was a very cool spot - SnowDelta kept asking what the body of water was, and it turned out based on my map that it is just a small reservoir. We checked out every possible place that we could think of, and most of them multiple times. Thanks for bringing us here - it was definitely a cool hidden place to discover, even if we didn't get the cache.

#1700 for me! And a FTF! Woo hoo! I was going to use Gerwalin's Revenge for this honor, but couldn't find it after a long search, and when a couple of new ones came up and I was already on the road, I couldn't pass them up. Found this one right away when I parked, but it was more luck than anything - I went to the right place, looked in the right place, noticed something out of place, and found the cache immediately after. I agree about the rating being a little higher because this is the first time I've ever seen this kind of hide. Thanks for putting this out!

Shared FTF - haven't done one of those in a while. I came here from Hazard on the... and was here probably 15 minutes before some people started showing up - no luck, but I wasn't looking in quite the right place. Once it was spotted, we spent the next couple of minutes trying to extract it. I had actually looked about a foot away from where it was spotted, but didn't see it until someone else pointed it out. Log was signed, and we chatted a while - I don't see too many Erie cachers most of the time so this was kind of nice. Thanks for putting this one out - I'll probably do the V'th log sometime next week, when I have my crew of intrepid puzzle solvers and high terrain hunters with me - haha. Thanks for putting this one out and adding a smiley to my total.

BVFDJR, FFKid, and a friend of theirs, as well as me, decided to attempt this cache as part of a short camping/swimming trip in the area. We figured this would be my 1700th cache, and the other cachers were always very good at finding caches which are difficult, and BVFDJR loves high terrain caches, so he was all excited.

We found stage one after a few minutes - coords seem a little off, but not enough to really cause a problem.

Stage 2 was pretty quick also. BVFDJR made the find.

Stage 3 took a few minutes, and we found what we were looking after finding some things we weren't looking for, if you know what I mean.

Stage 4... there's the problem. We spent almost an hour hunting around ground zero, on both sides of the creek (even though the GPS said one side on the map, and the other side with the arrow and distance). We spent a lot of time near the private sign (but not past it), and the trees nearby that, but had no luck. After we decided we had donated enough blood to the vampire mosquitoes, we headed back out, hoping for some kind of hint from the owner. Here's the DNF! The hides were very well done. I hope to finish this soon.

This was one of a bunch of caches that BVFDJR and Dr. Insanity did with me working on the AGT caches. We covered 2 and 2/3 counties in one day, and had a great time - it was a really long day, no DNF's except for the last cache which we couldn't figure out how to get to, and a lot of fun had by all.

This was our first stop, on the way to get those AGT's. We decided to stop and pick up an easy one to start with - ended up taking 15 minutes or so, and Dr. Insanity was the first one to figure out where it was. The clue was helpful but the coords seemed off. Thanks for bringing us here - I always enjoy cemetery caches.

This was one which took quite a while - I believe we spent almost 45 minutes hunting for this one. GPS signal is pretty sketchy down there, but the rocks were really cool to climb in, on, and around. I believe I might have scratched my colorado screen on one of them, as I found a scratch right after we got back. After going through the same area multiple times, and trying to figure out where the GPS was taking us, I ended up sitting down with it almost at my feet, and BVFDJR noticed it about the same time. This was a pretty cool place, and everyone with our group always likes rock climbing. Thanks for bringing us here for for putting this out!

Thanks for bringing us here - we got a glance at a nice view of the area, but it didn't seem like we could find a good place to see an open view because of the trees. Thanks for putting this out and for bringing us to this area!

This was an interesting adventure, because we found out at the end that we approached this from the completely wrong direction. We ended up following a road which was mostly part of a powerline cut, and this brought us to within a very short distance of the cache, but we had to go back out the way we came because the gate at the end of the one road was welded shut, and the other road was blocked with some old pipes. We found the cache - cool container, and I haven't seen one like this before, and then worked our way back around to get back to the main roads. Thanks for bringing us here and for putting this cache out!

We grabbed this one on the way to the nearby AGT cache - if we had more time, we probably would have done the rest of the ones in this area, but we were trying to finish the AGT series. Someone put a lot of thought into these caches and they were well designed. This was a pretty cool container. BVFDJR and Dr. Insanity spent most of the time hunting, as I had gotten a phone call that I needed to take related to my job. The log was signed, the books were stamped, and we moved on - thanks for bringing us here and for the cool container!

Wow - that's all I can really say - I don't want to give away the type of container for this cache, but it was really cool - We chose not to sit on it at all, but checked out the contents, were not quite looking forward to some of them, if you know what I mean, but managed to sign the log and get out of there while still remaining clean. We did wash our hands afterwards - haha. Thanks for bringing us here and for putting out this really cool cache!

This was a quick find based on the name - Thanks for bringing us here and for putting this out. We headed next for the AGT cache nearby, which, when we got there, seemed like it was placed by some of the same kind of people who put out the other cached we did in this area. Wish we had time to do all of them, because a lot of thought and care was put into them. Thanks!

This was a very cool container and cache. I would never have expected it to be that completely obvious, but then again, some of them are. I liked the artwork that went along with it. Got the song stuck in my head for a while after this. I tweaked my ankle coming back from the last cache, and was hobbling a little bit on this one, but it got better as the day went on, so its all good. Thanks for bringing us here and for putting this cache out!

This was a really cool place for a cache - I love going to swimming holes, and so do most of the people who cache with me. The rest of my group spent the time while I was getting the cache work done (after we found it), skipping stones over the calm water. Thanks for bringing us here and putting this cache out!

This was a pretty nice hike to get this cache - nothing special, except for a large number of bugs that kept bothering us a large amount of the time. Thanks for bringing us here and putting this cache out!

This was a weird cache - BVFDJR actually sat it out because he needed to sort some things out on his phone. Dr. Insanity headed in with me and we found the cache without any problems. I dropped a couple of TB's I had been carrying for way too long into it. Thanks for putting this out and for bringing us to this area.

This was a quick in and out for us - we just had to walk into a small area near a parking area to find the cache, log everything, and then move on to the next one. Thanks for putting this one out and for bringing us here!

BVFDJR had fun at this cache, as we walked through the fairgrounds, because he saw a train which is apparently used for wagon rides, and sat on it like he was going to drive it around. We found the cache without any problems after he was done being an engineer, and headed back out to the train area again. I ended up on the phone with a fellow cacher that I hadn't talked to in a long time for a while, and then we moved on to the next cache. Thanks for bringing us here and for showing us this area.

After this cache, we decided to check out some things we had seen as we were driving by the area. We found a ruined dam, and what appeared to be an abandoned factory of some kind. We stopped and checked both of these out, and took a bunch of pictures. This would be the perfect place to put a cache - this was probably the highlight of the entire 20+ cache trip.

This was a pretty quick and simple cache to get one of the Potter county ones. Thanks for bringing us here and showing us this area. It was a relatively long climb, but not bad at all.

This was one of two in the same area we decided to do. At the time we decided to do these, we were concerned because both appeared to be pretty long walks, and it was getting late. We decided to go ahead with it. My partners thought that the one cabin we had to walk by was haunted, because there was a light on but no one was home. We headed up in, and after about 15 minutes of wandering around ground zero, we found it. Thanks for bringing us here and showing us this area!

This was the second of the two we did that were close together. Thanks for bringing us here - we checked out some of the signs on the trail up the hill, and stopped several times to figure out what sounds in the night woods were. We found the cache pretty quickly, got what we needed, and moved on. Thanks!

This was the last find this evening on the run - we found this quickly off the side of the road, and had hoped we could find a couple more like this, but had no more luck - not that we couldn't find any more, we just couldn't find any that were easy enough to attempt as late as it was. Thanks for bringing us here!
